Testing and Standards - Made in Glass puts safety first

At Made in Glass, the safety and compliance of our glass railings are top priorities. All our products are designed in compliance with current French and European standards, guaranteeing the reliability, durability and safety of your installations.

1/4 - Standards applicable to glass guardrails

Our guardrails comply with the main building safety standards, in particular

  • NF P01-012 - Definition of loads and minimum heights for guardrails.
  • NF P01-013 - Mechanical resistance and test methods.
  • EN 1991-1-1 (Eurocode 1) - Actions on structures: loads on floors and guardrails.
  • EN 1096 / EN 12150 - Tempered safety glass and mechanical properties.

These standards guarantee that our products meet the safety criteria required for both private homes and establishments open to the public.

2/4 - Mechanical and resistance tests

Our products undergo regular resistance tests in approved laboratories. These tests include

  • Sandbag tests to simulate an impact on the glass surface.
  • Horizontal load tests to verify the strength of the anchoring system.
  • Bending and breaking tests on glass panels, depending on thickness and type (toughened, laminated, etc.).

We also offer specific tests on request for our professional customers or projects submitted to an inspection office.

3/4 - Technical approvals and certification

Some of our systems are certified by recognized organizations, attesting to their compliance with specific conditions of use. Other, more recent products are in the process of being certified. Our aim is to certify our entire range, but this process takes time and repeated testing.

At the same time, we maintain comprehensive technical documentation available on request, including drawings, manuals and test results.

4/4 - Commitment to quality and traceability

Each product delivered is accompanied by a technical data sheet specifying the type of glass, its thickness, the fastening system and the place of manufacture. Our manufacturing partners comply strictly with current ISO standards.

For complex projects, our CAD design service enables us to check dimensional conformity before production begins.
